GREEN BAY, Wis. — Sammantha Swanson and Roberto DeJesus were married on June 25, 2017, at the Green Bay Botanical Gardens Woodland site in Green Bay, Wis. Pastor Danny Gonzales, the groom’s cousin, officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Swanson of Iron Mountain.

The groom is the son of Mrs. Yola Arce of Chicago and Mr. Robert DeJesus of Miami, Fla.

The bride was escorted down the aisle by her father. She wore a vintage white gown of silk with rose-gold and silver lace. The dress was trimmed in faux diamonds with three-quarter length sleeves. She wore shoes by Kate Spade and carried a bouquet of blush peonies and white chrysanthemums.

Her attendants wore dresses of different shades of blush and gold.

The maids of honor were Mackenzie Swanson, sister of the bride, and Katie Herbert, best friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Tania Mishra and Elizabeth Bremer, college friends of the bride; Brittany Birmingham, cousin of the bride and Rebecca Hill, childhood friend of the bride.

The best men were Jovanni Cedeno, cousin of the groom and Paul Lopez, best friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Milton Rodriguez, cousin of the groom; Antonio DeJesus, brother of the groom; Robert DeJesus, father of the groom and Melvin Monroig, childhood friend of the groom.

Junior bridesmaids were Vivian Ventura, cousin of the bride and Makala Gil, niece of the groom.

Flowergirls were Arya Hill, niece of the bride, and Lia Romero, niece of the groom.

Junior groomsman was Elijah Garcia, nephew of the groom.

The position of ring security was held by Cristian Monroig, nephew of the groom.

Following the wedding, a reception took place at Green Bay’s Gather on Broadway. Guests attended from Arizona, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, North Carolina, Tennessee and Texas.

The couple spent their honeymoon in Kaui, Hawaii.

The bride is a graduate of Purdue University, where she obtained her bachelor of arts degree in English and English education. Upon graduation, she worked for three years in the Chicago and Oak Brook, Ill. schools teaching high school English. She now is a tutor, home school teacher and a freelance writer in Iron Mountain.

The groom, a Chicago native, is a graduate of Edwin G. Foreman High School. Upon graduation he became a security guard for Chicago Public Schools. He is employed currently as a design engineer at CCI Systems in Iron Mountain.

The couple presently reside in Iron Mountain.
