Kingsford church to provide ‘drive through’ meals

KINGSFORD — The First Presbyterian Church of Kingsford will continue to provide free meals to the community as they have done every Monday for the past 17 years.

Meals will be prepared, packaged and delivered on a “drive through” basis from 5 to 5:30 p.m. each Monday until given the authority to resume indoor gatherings.

The church will serve meals on a “first-come, first-serve basis” until the food runs out.

All meals will be prepared in accordance with the best food safety practices and in conformance to current state and federal guidelines regarding the health of all food service personnel.

“We look forward to serving our friends and neighbors in the community during these challenging times,” said Scott Lewellyn. “Most importantly, we ask you to remember that we are all in this time of concern ‘together’ and we are commanded by faith and the words of Jesus Christ to ‘love your neighbors.'”

“Please take time to reach out and serve the needs of our senior citizens and your own neighbors in the days and weeks ahead,” he said.
