Northern Lights Master Gardeners to host series on growing vegetables

MARINETTE, Wis. — Northern Lights Master Gardeners and the Marinette Senior Center are offering, as part of its “Ask a Master Gardener” series, new and unique classes on Beginning Vegetable Gardening. The four-part series will guide and help give participants the tools necessary to have successful vegetable gardens of their own come growing season. The first three classes will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays, March 4, 11 and 18, at the Marinette Senior Center, 1603 Ludington St. in Marinette. Legion Post 145 plans breakfast

NORWAY — The American Legion Post 145 of Norway will host an all-you-can-eat breakfast from 8 to 11:30 a.m. Sunday at the hall. The menu will include scrambled eggs, sausage, pancakes, French toast, hash brown potatoes, toast, coffee, milk, juice and fruit salad Cost is $10 per person; children 6 and younger can eat for free. Fish fry Friday in IM

IRON MOUNTAIN — The Uren-Cooper-Johnson American Legion Post 50 will host a fish fry from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Friday at the hall. Dinners includes a choice of three-piece cod or eight fried shrimp, along with fries, baked beans and cole slaw. Cost is $14 per plate. Dine-in or takeout is available. Wild Rivers Quilt Guild meeting set

FLORENCE, Wis. — The Wild Rivers Quilt Guild invites all area quilters to attend the upcoming meeting beginning at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 900 Central Ave. in Florence, the intersection of U.S. 2 and Highway 101. They will host a “Round Robin” session with three topics: The Pineapple Block ruler, embellishing quilts and upcoming retreat news/March quilting month activities.
