Certified quilt appraisals to be done in Florence

FLORENCE, Wis. — The Wild Rivers Quilt Guild will provide an opportunity for interested quilt owners to have their quilts appraised by American Quilters Society certified quilt and quilted textile appraiser Allison Rainboth. A few appointment slots remain for Wednesday, May 29. Appraisals will take place at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 900 Central Ave. in Florence. Golden K not meeting next two Mondays

KINGSFORD — The Golden K will host its annual children with special needs picnic Monday at City Park in Iron Mountain. They will not have a regular Monday meeting next week and May 27. Meetings will resume on Monday, June 3, at the First Presbyterian Church in Kingsford.

Stamp club meets Tuesday

IRON MOUNTAIN — The monthly meeting of the Northwoods Philatelic Society stamp club is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Fellowship Room of First Lutheran Church, 1210 S. Stephenson Ave. in Iron Mountain. The church is located between Domino’s Pizza and Slumberland Furniture. A short business meeting and educational program, will be followed by the usual informal stamp club auction. Zonta Nora Flemington Adult Education Scholarship offered

IRON MOUNTAIN — The Zonta Club of Iron Mountain-Kingsford is again offering the Nora Flemington Adult Educational Scholarship in the amount of $1,500. The scholarship will be awarded to assist adult women who wish to pursue further education in preparation for re-entry into the job market, or to women who have completed their undergraduate degree and wish to pursue graduate or professional studies. Post 145 breakfast Sunday

NORWAY — The American Legion Post 145 of Norway will host an all-you-can-eat breakfast from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Sunday at the hall. The menu will include scrambled eggs, sausage, pancakes, French toast, hash brown potatoes, toast, coffee, milk, juice, and fruit salad. Cost is $10 per person, child 6 and younger eat free. Northwoods Geology Club meets
