Comedy show at the Island Resort

HARRIS — Bonkerz Comedy Showcase returns to the Island Resort and Casino at 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, featuring stand-up comedy favorites Jon Reep, Adam Ferrara and Carla Rea, who are now easily recognized by TV and film audiences as well.

Headliner Reep is a nationally touring comedian whose contemporary country point of view has won over legions of fans in comedy clubs, on tv and in film.

Reep is known for his performances in “Eastbound and Down,” has appeared in the Tig Notaro series “One Mississippi,” and in “Black-Ish,” and may be best known as “Raymus, the pot smoking farmer” from “Harold and Kumar: Escape from Guantanamo Bay” or as “Hemi Guy” from Dodge’s popular ad campaign.

He can next be seen in the upcoming season of “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”

Ferrara has a unique ability and superb gift of comedy and improv, guaranteed to bring non-stop fun and laughter. He is an internationally touring headliner, two-time nominee for best male stand-up by the American Comedy Awards, has three Comedy Central specials, and has hosted the critically acclaimed BBC sensation, “Top Gear U.S.”

Ferrara is currently starring on CBS’s “All Access” show, “Why Women Kill” with Ginnifer Goodwin, Lucy Liu and an all-star cast. Also currently streaming on Amazon in the indie movie “Little Italy,” alongside Emma Roberts and Hayden Christenson. His new podcast, “The Adam Ferrara Podcast,” is a breakout hit, considered a “must listen” by Hidden Remote. His new comedy album “Unconditional” was Interrobang’s People’s Choice Album of the Year.

Kickin off this Bonkerz Comedy Showcase is Rea, an accomplished comedian with more than 25 years of experience with appearances on “Late Night with Conan O’Brien,” “Evening at the Improv,” a “Showtime Young Comedians” special, and various spots on “Comedy Central.”

She’s worked with the best: Ray Romano, Brad Garrett, Ellen DeGeneres, Kathleen Madigan and many others. Along with being a comedian, Rea is also a seasoned radio and TV personality who truly delivers the laughs.
