Free community meal Sunday

NORWAY — Grace United Methodist Church of Norway will host a free community meal from 5 to 6 p.m. Sunday in the church hall.

The menu will be ham, potatoes, carrots, cabbage, and dessert and beverages. Corned beef is available if requested.

There is no cost for dinner, but a donation basket is available for those who want to make a contribution toward the meals.

The free meals also will be delivered in the Norway-Vulcan area.

Those unable to come to the church who would like a meal delivered or who want to come for takeout should call the church office at 906-563-8917 before 2 p.m. Thursday. Those who get the answering machine should leave a message but call before the Thursday deadline, since any message left after that time may not be received.

Reservations for eating in would also be appreciated.

“The meals program has been growing since its beginning as a new community outreach ministry,” said Chris Spence, dinner organizer. “It is funded through donations.”

Everyone is welcome to attend. The church, 130 O’Dill Drive, is behind the Jake Menghini Museum and is known as Crossroads, a facility shared by Grace United Methodist and Bethany Lutheran churches.
