Mansfield Pioneer Church summer service to be July 25

MANSFIELD — The Mansfield Memories Committee will sponsor the annual summer service starting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 25, at the Mansfield Pioneer Church.

The old pump organ will again accompany many of favorite hymns and gospel songs. All are invited to join in the singing. The Rev. Jim Janofski of the Randville Bible Church will officiate at the ecumenical service.

The committee extends an open invitation to anyone who wishes to attend the service and hopes they will stay and enjoy lunch and fellowship afterwards. No admission fee is ever charged at the church; however, a free-will offering will be taken to help defray expenses.

Hundreds of people visit the unique church each year and express their appreciation of the efforts of those who helped in the reconstruction of the only church Mansfield has known in its 128-year history.

Directions to Mansfield’s historical district and this special log church are: On M-69, go about 4 miles east of Crystal Falls or about 6 miles west of Sagola, then turn north on the Mansfield Cut-Off Road. Travel until you reach a fork in the road and turn left onto Stream Road.

The church site is approximately one-half mile.
