Mobile food pantry at Crossroads in Norway

NORWAY — The Feeding America Mobile Food Pantry will be in Norway on Friday.

Free food will be distributed at 5 p.m. at the Crossroads Alliance church facility, 130 O’Dill Drive in Norway, home of Bethany Lutheran Church and Grace United Methodist Church.

The doors will not open until 4 p.m. The public is asked to bring bags or containers for food items, although some of each will be available for those in need.

This food distribution is sponsored jointly by Bethany Lutheran, Evangelical Covenant, Grace United Methodist, Living Hope Community Bible Church, and St. Mary/St. Barbara parishes.

Feeding America is bringing the mobile food pantry from the West Michigan Food Bank near Grand Rapids, Mich. It operates a network of food banks and is the nation’s leading domestic hunger-relief charity.

All in need of food assistance are welcome to come and receive produce and groceries that have been made available by donations and partnerships from people and corporations.

Income verification is not needed; however, participants will be asked to sign a USDA registry that states they have received food and fall within the income guidelines.

For more information or to volunteer to help with distribution, call the Rev. Irene White at the Grace United Methodist Church at 906-563-8917.
