AAUW membership social slated

IRON MOUNTAIN — The Iron Mountain-Kingsford Branch of American Association of University Women will host a membership social from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, at the Chippewa Club in Iron Mountain.

The community is invited to this event, which will feature dessert and the opportunity to learn about AAUW.

Founded in 1881, AAUW is open to all graduates who hold an associate or higher degree from a qualified educational institution.

The Iron Mountain-Kingsford Branch was established on Jan. 1, 1921. They advance equity for women and girls through their scholarships, Speech Trek competition, book sale, Candidates’ Forum, Equal Pay Day, and Start Smart workshop.

The membership social will be a great opportunity for the community to find out about AAUW and the many activities of the Iron Mountain-Kingsford Branch. All members of the community who meet the membership criteria are invited.
