IRON MOUNTAIN — Phyllis Carlson of Quinnesec will be the guest speaker at the Dickinson County Genealogical Society meeting at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain.

Known for her expertise in rescuing animals, identifying mushrooms and flora, and efforts to preserve natural habitats of this area, Carlson will introduce members and guests to methods of organizing and preserving digital pictures and scans.

She also will demonstrate how to create files of those digital photos for quick and accurate access.

Those persons attending the meeting are asked to bring their camera or cellphone along with charging cords. After the demonstration, Carlson will be available to answer individual concerns.
