IRON MOUNTAIN — Michigan State University Extension is a resource for food safety training. Food Safety Educators will host a live online webinar titled “Pantry Food Safety–It’s Your Job.”
Part one of the two-part series will cover these topics: why food safety in a food bank/pantry is important, handwashing, personal hygiene, cleaning and sanitizing, and receiving food product.
Part two will cover a continuation of receiving food product, storage of food product, re-packaging, and the Bill Emerson Good Samaritan Food Donation Law. This webinar is based on current food safety and Michigan Food Code as it relates to food banks/and food pantries.
The event will have a question and answer portion for participants. Food Safety Educators will be available for this session and will provide the most up-to-date, research-based information.
