Deacon Terry Verville recently led a prayer service for the victims of abortion at the Resthaven Cemetery in Iron River. The service consisted of several prayers, recitation of the Rosary, meditating on the Sorrowful Mysteries, followed by a closing prayer and blessing. Verville hopes to make this an annual event on or near the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Mother Mary. Verville serves as deacon for St. Agnes Catholic Church in Iron River, St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Caspian and Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Watersmeet. He also is a member of the Iron River Knights of Columbus Council 2300 as financial secretary and Fourth Degree Assembly 501 as sentinel and honor guard.
