Library card sign-up prizes
IRON MOUNTAIN — The Dickinson County Library wants to reward patrons for using their library cards in September during Library Card Sign-Up Month.
Customers who show their library cards at the Moose Jackson Cafe in Iron Mountain anytime during the month will receive 10% off their order.
In addition, high school-age and adult patrons can enter a drawing to win one of five Moose Jackson gift cards each day they use their library card at any library branch.
Community members who don’t have a library cards can sign up at any library branch. Library cards allow patrons to check out materials, and access helpful eResources, such as Libby for eBooks and audiobooks, Mango for language learning, A to Z Food America for recipes and more.
All Dickinson County residents and property taxpayers are eligible for a library card at no charge. Non-residents are also welcome to get a library card for a fee.
All ages are eligible for a card, but those younger than age 18 must have an adult cardholder fill out the paperwork and agree to be responsible for all checked-out materials. Persons need to bring a photo identification with current address of or proof of residency, such as current utility bill if a resident with an ID that doesn’t display current address, to any library site to begin the registration process.
Bay College West students are eligible for a free library card as long as they are enrolled, even if they do not reside in Dickinson County. Simply bring a student ID into any branch to begin the registration process.
Library Card Sign-Up Month rewards are sponsored by Dr. Dale and Lucy Shampo and the Moose Jackson Cafe.
