Virtual support group for caregivers
MARQUETTE — Family caregivers often report feeling isolated, stressed, and overwhelmed as they care for their aging parents, spouse, friend or other family member with a long-term illness or disabling condition.
UPCAP’s Virtual Caregiver Support Group, intended specifically for Upper Peninsula family caregivers, is accepting new members. The group is facilitated by a moderator and meets virtually from 2 to 3 p.m. Eastern time on the second Tuesday of each month.
Support groups provide a safe place where these caregivers can get social support, learn from others, discuss caregiving skills and talk confidentially with other family caregivers.
A device with internet connection, webcam, microphone and an email address is needed to participate, and registration is required.
To register or for more information, call 906-217-3019 or email caregivers@upcap.org
