Bits & Bridles 4-H plans horse shows
NORWAY — The Bits & Bridles 4-H Club will host its annual horse shows Aug. 6-7 at the Dickinson County Fairgrounds in Norway. Shows will begin at 9 a.m.
The club is once again seeking funds from local residents and businesses to help offset the costs of this year’s shows, as well as help support sending 4-H youth participants within the club to different programs for learning, including 4-H Expo Days at the Michigan State University campus.
“Any donation is greatly accepted and appreciated,” said leaders Ashley Edwards and Jennifer Cooper, adding that the names of the businesses will be displayed at the shows as well as announced multiple times throughout the two events.
Each $20 donation can sponsor two riding classes for a show, as an example of how funds can be used.
The Bits & Bridles Club is composed of local families that are dedicated to assisting the community with projects such as horseback riding, showing, raising and selling market animals and volunteering for service hours.
Thanks to their successful fundraising efforts last year, the club was able to offer two shows to local horse riders.
Those wishing to make a donation can contact Edwards at 906-221-6142, Cooper at 906-221-3663 or Mike Cronick at 906-221-7534.
The club thanks everyone in advance for their contributions, as it means so much to have the community’s support. They also invite the public to come watch their shows.
