Applications available for Non-Traditional Scholarship
IRON MOUNTAIN — American Association of University Women Iron Mountain/Kingsford Branch is accepting applications for its Non-Traditional Scholarship.
AAUW is an organization whose mission is to promote equality for all women and girls, lifelong education and positive societal change.
In support of this mission, the Iron Mountain/Kingsford Branch of AAUW is offering the Non-Traditional Scholarship to women living in Dickinson, Iron and Florence counties, plus Niagara, Wis., and surrounding areas.
Applicants must be age 22 or older and pursuing a certificate program, an associate’s degree or a bachelor’s degree program in the fall.
The intent of this scholarship is to open or re-open the door for new or returning students who have been away from education for a period of time and have chosen to return to college to improve their employability potential. Past recipients of this scholarship may not re-apply.
The amount of the scholarship will be $1,500. One scholarship winner will be chosen based on a variety of factors, including financial need, likelihood of success and a personal essay.
