MARVELous illustrator at the library on Saturday

IRON MOUNTAIN — Jerry DeCaire, a Marvel illustrator, will put on a free drawing workshop from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain.

DeCaire has done illustrations for Deadpool, Thor, Wolverine and many other popular Marvel Entertainment superheroes. In this program, he will show how a comic book is made, draw some of his favorite superheroes in real-time, and you might even be picked out of the crowd to draw a superhero with DeCaire.

A session for questions will take place at the end of the program, and copies of DeCaire’s drawings will be handed out and signed.

The library, formerly the Carnagie Library, was opened in 1902 after Andrew Carnegie established a grant for a public library in Iron Mountain. The location was moved in 1969 to its current location.

The Dickinson County Library now has three locations: the main site in Iron Mountain, the Solomonson Branch in Norway and the North Dickinson Branch in the North Dickinson County School building in Felch Township.

For more information on upcoming programs, go to the library’s website at www.dcl-lib.org or call the library at 906-774-1218.

Starting at $3.50/week.
