Applications sought for Zonta’s Young Women in Leadership Award

IRON MOUNTAIN — The Iron Mountain-Kingsford Zonta Club now accepting applications for its Young Women in Leadership Award.

The award, available to young women ages 16 to 19, recognizes young women for their commitment to volunteerism, volunteer leadership achievements and dedication to empowering women worldwide.

The recipient will receive a $500 monetary award, with an opportunity for an additional $5,000 from Zonta International.

Applications are available at high school guidance offices, including Iron Mountain; Kingsford; Norway-Vulcan; North Dickinson County; Forest Park; Florence, Wis.; Niagara, Wis.; and Beecher-Dunbar-Pembine, Wis.

The local club will accept applications through Friday, March 27. Completed forms can be mailed to Zonta Club of IM-K area, Attn: Susan Smith, P.O. Box 343, Iron Mountain, MI 49801.

Those who are out of high school and wish to have the application emailed can contact Susan Smith at susanleach@gmail.com.

The Zonta Young Women in Leadership Award is a Zonta International program funded by contributions to the Zonta Foundation for Women. Zonta International is a leading global organization of individuals working to build a better world for women and girls.
