FLORENCE, Wis. — The Northwoods Geology Club will meet at 5 p.m. Wednesday in the upper level of the Wild Rivers Interpretive Center in Florence. Everyone is welcome to look around the center and/or help the club install new lighting for the mineral display. At 6 p.m., the group will move downstairs for the featured guest speaker of the month, Jake Kacynski of Coleman Engineering. KINGSFORD — The Dickinson County Community Chorus will begin rehearsals at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, in preparation for the upcoming Sounds of Christmas concert. Rehearsals run from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays in the fellowship hall of the First Presbyterian Church, 395 Hamilton Ave. in Kingsford. The children’s chorus will begin rehearsals at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, and will continue on the same nights as the adult choir. NORWAY — The American Legion Post 145 of Norway will host an all-you-can-eat breakfast from 8 to 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 30, at the hall.
