Caregiver Retreat set for Sept. 26 in Crystal Falls

CRYSTAL FALLS — Upper Peninsula Commission for Area Progress — UPCAP — will host a Caregiver Retreat from 9:45 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at Fortune Lake Camp, 138 Fortune Lake Camp Road, Crystal Falls. The daylong event is designed to provide rest and rejuvenation for non-professional family caregivers from across the Upper Peninsula. Funday horse event Saturday in Sagola

SAGOLA — A non-profit Funday Horse Show, hosted by Clover Kids Friends Society, will take place Saturday at Blue Spruce Stables, W8793 Johnson Lane in Sagola. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m., with show starting at 9:30 a.m. Cost is $25 per class. Age divisions are 12 and younger; 13 to 19; and 20 and older. Classes in order are: egg and spoon; barrels; flag; plug; apples and crackers, 12 and younger; ribbon race; keyhole; handy horse; and stick pony, 12 and younger. Northern Lights Master Gardeners having Fall Plant Sale on Thursday

MARINETTE, Wis. —The annual Fall Plant Sale fundraiser by the Northern Lights Master Gardeners Association Inc. will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Harmony Arboretum in Marinette. The plant sale will feature a wide selection of plants grown and donated by members of NLMGAI. Plants at Harmony ready to be divided will also be available for sale and will be dug during the plant sale. This year’s offerings include perennials, herbs, native plants and house plants. Doll club to have first fall meeting

EAGLE RIVER, Wis.— The Enchanted Doll Club of the Northwoods will have its first fall meeting at 1 p.m. Thursday in the meeting room of the Kalmar Community Center, 1011 N. Railroad St. in Eagle River. Dawn Brogle of Eagle River will present a program on royalty with dolls representing kings, queens, princes and princesses, real and fictional. Attendees are invited to come to the meeting wearing their tiaras and sharing their royal dolls as well.
