Bingo fundraiser on Thursday in Niagara

NIAGARA, Wis. — A bingo fundraiser for the Marinette County Elderly Services will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Niagara Community Center, 569 Washington Ave. in Niagara. Doors open at 5 p.m. Cash prizes will be awarded. Concessions and desserts will be available for purchase and they will also have a 50-50 drawing. The Marinette County Elderly Services helps the Niagara senior meal program.

Social Security to fully transition to electronic payments

LANSING — As of September 2025, federal law and Executive Order 14247 require federal benefits to be paid electronically. To improve efficiency, reduce costs and enhance security in federal payments, the Department of the Treasury is phasing out paper checks. Social Security plans to complete the full transition to electronic payments for all beneficiaries this year. If still receiving payments by paper check, the SS encourages everyone to switch to electronic payments as soon as possible. New camera club to meet Thursday

IRON MOUNTAIN — Anyone who enjoys taking photos is invited to the inaugural meeting of the Iron Mountain Regional Camera Club from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain. The meeting will include photography talks, share and learn and photo “meet-ups.” The club is open to all skill levels.
