Florence County Historical Society to meet Tuesday
FLORENCE, Wis. — The Florence County Historical Society will have its monthly meeting at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the museum, 201 Florence Ave. in Florence. The main agenda will be final plans for opening the museum June 13, which will honor area veterans. Members also are planning for upcoming Strawberry Social and Quilt Show, along with other summer activities. The board welcomes those who wish to share ideas on promoting the county’s history.
Mobile food pantry in Kingsford on Wednesday
KINGSFORD — Feeding America West Michigan will bring a mobile food pantry Wednesday to Redemption Hill Church, 332 S. Carpenter Ave. in Kingsford. Free food will be available to all households experiencing food insecurity. The drive-thru food distribution begins promptly at 11 a.m., with registration at 10 a.m. at customer vehicles. Arrival prior to registration is not necessary. DCCC children’s chorus to start rehearsing Tuesday
KINGSFORD — Dickinson County Community Chorus rehearsals are in full swing. The adult chorus began rehearsing a few weeks ago and is now looking for children to fill out the program. The Dickinson County Community Children’s Chorus will begin rehearsals from 6:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church in Kingsford, and have five weekly rehearsals until the Lake Antoine Park Concert on Sunday, July 12, that will celebrate the country’s 250th birthday.
