New camera club to meet Thursday

IRON MOUNTAIN — Anyone who enjoys taking photos is invited to the inaugural meeting of the Iron Mountain Regional Camera Club from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain. Social Security to fully transition to electronic payments

LANSING — As of September 2025, federal law and Executive Order 14247 require federal benefits to be paid electronically. To improve efficiency, reduce costs and enhance security in federal payments, the Department of the Treasury is phasing out paper checks. Social Security plans to complete the full transition to electronic payments for all beneficiaries this year. If still receiving payments by paper check, the SS encourages everyone to switch to electronic payments as soon as possible.
