CoVantage donates $100K to COVID-19 relief efforts

ANTIGO, Wis. — The CoVantage Credit Union Board of Directors has authorized donations totaling $100,000 in support of area non-profit organizations that are located throughout several communities served by the financial cooperative.

Funds were specifically targeted to support local charities that have been working with those experiencing financial challenge as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, such as area food pantries, homeless shelters, and community foundations.

These organizations have received donations —

— United Way of Langlade County;

— Weekend Backpack Program-Antigo;

— Antigo Area Community Food Pantry;

— Community Foundation of Northcentral Wisconsin;

— United Way of Portage County in Wisconsin;

— New Cap-Crandon, Wis.;

— Wasmogishek Food Pantry-Crandon;

— Rhinelander (Wis.) Food Pantry;

— SAM 25 Shelter- Shawano, Wis.;

— Shawano Area Food Pantry and Resource Center;

— Christine Ann Domestic Abuse Services-Neenah, Wis.;

— St. Joseph Food Program-Menasha, Wis.;

— COTS transitional shelter-Appleton, Wis.;

— Salvation Army Fox Cities;

— Howard/Suamico (Wis.) Giving Tree;

— Paul’s Food Pantry-Green Bay area;

— St. Vincent De Paul-Menominee, Mich., and Marinette, Wis.;

— St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry, Crystal Falls and Iron River, Mich.

“The credit union recognizes that these are difficult times for our communities, and our directors wanted to provide these donations as a way of living our mission by helping those on the front-lines who are serving our friends and neighbors who are struggling,” said Charlie Zanayed, CoVantage CEO. “While there has been an increase in demand for services and supplies because of COVID-19, it is our hope that these donations to non-profit organizations will have a positive impact for those with the greatest needs. CoVantage Credit Union has a long history of supporting the communities we serve by providing financial support to organizations that serve those experiencing significant financial challenge.
