QUINNESEC – Thomas Theatre Group has announced the start of renovations to their theatre complexes in both Quinnesec and Escanaba.

Remodeling begins this week in movie theatres number one and number eight, with a focus on guest comfort and style.

New high back leather seating will be installed featuring assigned VIP seating. Both theatre locations will remain fully operational during this construction phase.

“We are pleased to begin seating upgrades at our existing locations as part of our phase one renovations,” according to Thomas D. Andes, president of Thomas Theatre Group.

“Our overall plan is to transform Willow Creek and Tri-City Cinemas to fully renovated destinations offering our customers a modern comfortable movie going experience.”

Theatres one and eight will feature leather high back seating with an ergonomic design for the patrons comfort. Each movie house will boast VIP seating. VIP seating is a very popular across the country and been a positive feature at Marquette Cinemas.

“VIP seating has been more popular than expected at our Marquette theatre. We’re excited for our Quinnesec and Escanaba customers to share the same experience,” Andes said.

VIP seating will be available and will include reserved seating, extra-large cup holders, oversized armrests, side tables, added leg room and superior comfort.

In 2014, Thomas Theatre Group installed 16 digital projection, sound, and screen systems at Willow Creek Cinemas 8 and Tri-City Cinemas 8.

Other renovations include reconfiguring the aisles, new aisle lighting, new VCT tile and carpeting.

The overall goal is to make the patrons experience more comfortable. The updates are projected to be complete by mid-November in time for the holiday movie season.
