ShopKo to turn over the De Pere distribution center to new firm

DE PERE, Wis. (AP) – ShopKo says starting next year, another company will oversee workers at its De Pere distribution center.

The Ashwaubenon-based retailer is turning the operation over to Spectrum Supply Chain Solutions, a Canadian logistics company.

Shopko says the move will improve operations and service to customers. Spectrum specializes in running warehouse and transportation operations, which ShopKo says will allow the company to focus on its core retail business.

Nearly 250 people work at the distribution center.

WLUK-TV reports employees say they were notified of the transfer in July.

ShopKo says no one is expected to lose their job at the De Pere center.
