Walk raised funds for the Loan Closet
IRON MOUNTAIN – More than 200 people in pink T-shirts walked from Edwards Automotive in Iron Mountain to First Presbyterian Church in Kingsford to raise awareness for breast cancer.
“We pledged $5 per walker to the Dickinson County Cancer Loan Closet,” said Wade Edwards, general manager of Edwards Automotive.
This effort raised more than $1,500 for the Dickinson County Cancer Loan Closet.
The First National Bank’s Main Branch served as a halfway point for walkers. Many bank employees wore their pink T-shirts the day of the walk and made individual donations for the Loan Closet.
The Dickinson County Cancer Loan Closet is a volunteer run organization. All donations stay in the community and cover a variety cancer and non-cancer patient needs.
