Bay West to offer customer service training April 16

IRON MOUNTAIN — Bay College West Campus will have a training session, “Customer Service: Getting it Right and Steps to Take When It Goes Wrong,” from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 16 at Bay College West Campus.

The session will be taught by Cindy Carter, who has more than 19 years of experience in high-level customer service roles. She spent 17 years in higher education and college recruitment, and also worked for the Walt Disney World Corporation and The University of Phoenix. Most recently, Carter has become a successful entrepreneur.

This training will best serve those who interact with customers on a daily basis. Attendees can expect to learn skills and techniques to assist them in handling a variety of situations.

Carter will address ways to provide a positive experience when customers have no time to wait, expect a high-quality product and want the item at a low cost. Retaining current customers, managing upset customers and recognizing opportunities to cross-sell also will be discussed.

Participants should plan on an interactive workshop through use of role playing and shared scenarios to practice customer service techniques.

The session costs $60 and includes lunch. Registration can be done online at www.baycollege.edu/mtec.
