Helgren joins Northern Interstate Bank

IRON MOUNTAIN — Jim Helgren has been added as assistant vice president-branch manager at Northern Interstate Bank.

Helgren will work out of the Northern Interstate Bank office at 1917 N. Stephenson Ave. in Iron Mountain.

An Iron Mountain High School graduate, Helgren earned a bachelor of science in business administration degree with a major in finance and a concentration in banking from Central Michigan University.

Before joining Northern Interstate Bank, he was market manager at River Valley Bank in Iron Mountain and has extensive experience in the lending market in Dickinson County.

“His lending experience, along with market management background, will be a great benefit to our bank customers, as well as prospective customers who are looking for a true community bank to assist them with all of their financial needs,” said Tim Mattson, president and CEO of Northern Interstate Bank, and Michael Ferguson, Crystal Falls Community Bank president.

Helgren makes his home in Iron Mountain with his wife, Elena, and son Gabriel. His oldest son, Cameron, lives out of the area.

Northern Interstate Bank is a $158 million asset bank headquartered in Norway. In addition to the Iron Mountain office, Northern Interstate Bank has two sites each in Norway and Crystal Falls, plus offices in Carney, Sagola and Powers.
