Oktoberfest, Run IM to partner

OKTOBERFEST IS PARTNERING with Run IM on both events planned for Saturday, Sept. 28. From left are Sandy Petroff, a Run IM board member; Amber Pipp, Downtown Development Authority program director; and Joe Smith, Run IM race director.

IRON MOUNTAIN — Organizers of Oktoberfest sponsored by First National Bank & Trust and the Run IM Half Marathon race have decided to partner the two events.

The goal of the partnership is to work together and share resources on both major fundraisers.

“We are looking forward to this partnership and how it can benefit both organizations. We love to see the crowd these events bring downtown, which is just another step toward creating a more thriving and vibrant downtown,” said Amber Pipp, Downtown Development Authority program director.

These two events are scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 28. The Iron Mountain Road & Trail has a half-marathon, half-marathon relay, Moochathon 5K and Mini Mooch 2 mile, with races beginning at 9 a.m.

“This time of year brings us the opportunity to show off our beautiful community with a scenic 13.1-mile run. This partnership with Oktoberfest now provides a compelling reason for visitors to plan to come visit us and enjoy a full day of fun and enjoyment in downtown Iron Mountain,” said Joe Smith, race director.

Oktoberfest sponsored by First National Bank & Trust will begin at 11 a.m., and offer participants a way to celebrate completing their races. Half-marathon and half-marathon relay participants, as well as all children age 12 and younger will be admitted free to Oktoberfest.

This event will take place in downtown Iron Mountain in the city parking lot at East A and Iron Mountain streets in downtown Iron Mountain.
