Florence students awarded scholarships

FLORENCE, Wis. — Scholarships were awarded to eight graduating seniors of the Class of 2018 at Florence High School.

Recipients were:

— Logan Behrmann, son of William and Jenny Behrmann of Long Lake, who plans to study astrophysics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison: Marlene Cunningham, $2,500; Fitzgibbon Math/Science, $1,500; National Honor Society, $500; Gary Mueller, $4,000.

— Michael Dishaw, son of Joe and Kim Dishaw of Florence, who plans to study mechanical engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Stout: William Anderson Memorial, $3,000; Tony & Peter DeMuri, $600; WPPI Energy, $1,000; National Honor Society, $500; Cosgrove Scholarship, $250.

— Alicia Gehlhoff, daughter of Jim and Wendy Gehlhoff of Florence, who plans to pursue general biology and pre-veterinary studies at St. Norbert College: American Association of University Women, $1,000; National Honor Society, $500; Florence Athletic Booster Club, $750; K. Casey Constantini, $500; Nsight Teleservices, $1,200; Iron Mountain Daily News Student of the Year nominee, $100; St. Norbert Trustee Distinguished, $80,000; Wisconsin Academic Excellence Award, $9,000; Great North Bank, $1,000; Cal Erickson Scholarship, $1,000; Florence County Dollars for Scholars in memory of Ginny Ehrenreich, $2,000; Good Samaritan Scholarship, $4,000.

— Bernardo Moreno, son of Kari Goral of Florence, planning to attend the University of Wisconsin-Stout: UW Stout’s Promising Student, $1,000; Charles and Patricia Nelson, $2,000; William Anderson Memorial, $2,000; National Honor Society, $500; Student Activity Fund, $500.

— Hailie Mullen, daughter of Penny Booth of Florence, enrolling as a nursing student at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College: VFW, $350; Donna Lusardi, $500; Billy Pestor Scholarship, $500; Nona Beauchamp Scholarship, $300; Florence Citizen’s Nursing, $40,000.
