Farmer’s market on Saturday in IM

Summer produce at downtown event

IRON MOUNTAIN–The next Iron Mountain Farmers & Artisans Summer Market will be held Saturday.

The market will run every Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon through Oct. 12.

The market, located across from the Dickinson County Library, is managed by Nancy Schaub together with the Farmer’s Market Executive committee under the auspices of the Downtown Development Authority.

The public is asked to refrain from being in market area before 8 a.m. to give vendors a chance to set up their products safely.

“We are expecting some summer produce at this week’s market — peas, beans, zucchini, lettuce, and kale,” Schaub said. “There are perennial plants available for gardeners. There will also be fresh herbs, seasonal berries, eggs, meat, jam, honey and maple syrup. Lots of locally produced crafts, art and baked goods are just waiting to be discovered. Check out our new web page ironmountainfarmersmarket.com for vender info.”

Space may still be available for those wishing to sell locally grown produce and plants. Artist and crafters producing unique products from natural or organic materials are encouraged to join other vendors at the market.

The market is also open to those locally produced food products. Vendors will no longer be accepted on site but rather will be required to submit a completed application for the Market Committee to review. There is a cost to join the market.

Interested farmer or artist vendors wanting to participate in the market or citizens seeking additional information, please contact the Iron Mountain Farmer’s and Artisan’s Market Manager at 906-774-9223 or e-mail hsrhnschaub@att.net.

The market is also looking for musicians who want to perform at the market. Please contact Schaub if you are interested.
