CALUMET — A Houghton man was killed in a one-vehicle crash in Calumet Township on Tuesday.

The crash occurred about 4:30 p.m. on U.S. 41 near No. 4 Road in Centennial Location, the Houghton County Sheriff’s Office said.

The sole passenger, James Christner, 81, was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene, the sheriff’s office said. The driver, a 72-year-old Houghton man, sustained minor injuries.

The driver, Arthur Oikarinen, was wearing a seatbelt, while Christner was not, the sheriff’s office said.
