Armed robbery at Coleman store

COLEMAN, Wis. — Authorities are looking for a man who robbed a grocery store Saturday in Coleman, according to a release from Marinette County Sheriff Jerry Sauve.

Deputies from the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office responded to an armed robbery at 6:13 p.m. at the Piggly Wiggly grocery store in Coleman. A male suspect threatened to use a firearm before leaving the store on foot with stolen cash, Sauve said.

The suspect was described as a tall, white male wearing a Milwaukee Brewers hat, long-sleeved shirt, dark pants and grey shoes, the release states.

Initial investigation revealed the suspect left eastbound on foot but then may have left in a vehicle, Sauve said.

Coleman Police and the sheriff’s office were assisted by the Marinette Police Department and their K-9 unit, Oconto County Sheriff’s Office and their K-9 unit and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources wardens.
