Marquette to host 101 breweries Sept. 7 for annual UP Fall Beer Festival

MARQUETTE — A record 101 Michigan breweries are headed to downtown Marquette on Sept. 7 for the Michigan Brewers Guild’s 11th annual U.P. Fall Beer Festival.

The event takes place from 1 to 6 p.m. Eastern time along the shores of Lake Superior in Mattson Lower Harbor Park.

A one-hour early admission will be available for current members.

Festival tickets still are available for $45 in advance or $50 the day of at mibeer.com/Events/up-fall-beer-festival, as well as at select Marquette locations including The Vierling, Marquette Harbor Brewery, Blackrocks Brewery and Marquette Food Co-op.

Tickets will also be available at the Will Call tent at the festival entrance beginning at 11 a.m. Sept. 7.

Attendees can choose from more than 600 locally crafted beers. Festival guests also can enjoy a wide array of food from area restaurants and listen to a talented line-up of musicians.

Guests are welcome as well to bring non-alcoholic beverages and food with them to the event.

The Michigan Brewers Guild was formed in 1997 and had its first festival in July 1998. Today, the guild hosts four festivals dedicated exclusively to Michigan craft beer produced by its more than 290 member breweries.

The guild is the network of brewers that serves as the recognized advocate for the Michigan craft beer industry.
