KINGSFORD — Students attending Breitung Township Schools will start the new school year Tuesday, Aug. 27.

Teachers will have professional development in-service days on Thursday and Aug. 26.

Schilleman Bus Service will have bus routes with times and bus stop locations posted in The Daily News before the start of classes.

Orientation for each school will be:

— Kingsford High School: From 2:30 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, students in grades 10 and 11 can return their required signature pages and documents to the high school cafeteria, have their 2019-2020 school photo taken and receive their class schedule and agenda book.

Seniors should report to the high school cafeteria Tuesday with their required signature pages and documents to receive their class schedule and agenda book.

Freshmen and new student orientation will be 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the high school auditorium. All freshmen, new students and their parents should attend this orientation, which will provide an overview of the offerings, opportunities, procedures and processes at the high school.

After the orientation, student school pictures will be taken and class schedules and agenda books will be distributed.

Flivver athletic season passes will go on sale today in the KHS principal’s office.

Meet the Flivvers for all fall sports will take place at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Flivver Field.

— Kingsford Middle School: Orientation sessions for fifth-grade and all new students will take place Tuesday in the Kingsford Middle School cafeteria, according to this schedule: Last names A-L from 9 to 9:45 a.m.; last names M-Z from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m.

New students may attend either session.

Parents of fifth-graders and new students are encouraged to attend the orientation sessions with students.

Photos for all KMS students will be taken from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Kingsford High School cafeteria.

— Woodland Elementary School: School supply lists are available at https://sites.google.com/kingsford.org/woodland-elementary/ and at local department stores.

The open house for first through fourth grades will be 1 to 4 p.m. Monday, Aug. 26.

An early kindergarten/kindergarten open house and child care open house will be 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday.

All parents are encouraged to attend. It will be an opportunity for students and parents to visit classrooms and meet teachers.
