IRON MOUNTAIN — A Norway man accused of abusing a 13-month-old child waived his preliminary examination Tuesday in Dickinson County District Court and was bound over to circuit court.

Craig Groeneveld, 38, is charged with second-degree child abuse, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

According to the criminal complaint, Groeneveld caused “severe and life-threatening injuries” to a 13-month-old child in his care Oct. 28.

Groeneveld’s arraignment in circuit court is scheduled for Dec. 16. Bond is set at $25,000 cash or surety.
