QUINNESEC — The Almost Home Animal Shelter will have its ValenTails fundraising event from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 22 at Oak Crest Golf Course in Norway.

The evening will include a raffle, door prizes, plated meal, cash bar and both live and silent auction. Raffle tickets are $5 and cash prizes total $1,000. Ticket holders do not need to be present to win cash prizes.

“We are excited about putting on ValenTails again this year,” said Nancy Schaub, chairwoman of the Almost Home Shelter fundraising committee. “This event is our biggest fundraiser. The money we raise at this event helps us to keep our doors open, pay for veterinary care and find forever homes for hundreds of pets every year.”

Event tickets are $25 until Jan. 31, when the price will be $30. Event and raffle tickets are available at Almost Home Animal Shelter, the Pat’s Foods branch of Northern Interstate Bank in Norway, the main First National Bank & Trust office in downtown Iron Mountain, and the Iron Mountain Animal Hospital.

Tickets last year sold out before the evening of the dinner.

Anyone who wants to assist in fundraising for the shelter can attend the regular fundraising meeting at 6 p.m. on the first Wednesday of the month in the upper level of the shelter.
