Two teens found dead inside vehicle in L’Anse
L’ANSE — Two Baraga County teenagers are dead and another is hospitalized in Green Bay, Wis., after they were found in a car at the end of Silver Road, according to the Baraga County Sheriff’s Office.
According to a news release, deputies responded about 4:15 p.m. Monday to a call about a possible drunken driver. Deputies said the vehicle was running when they arrived. Two 17-year-old males, Dylan Roberts of L’Anse and Christopher Turpeinen of Pelkie, were found dead inside the vehicle.
A 17-year-old female, Hunter Pelon, was unconscious. She was removed from the vehicle and life-saving measures were initiated.
Pelon then was taken to Baraga County Memorial Hospital by Bay Ambulance, and subsequently transferred to a Green Bay hospital, but her condition was unknown. Roberts and Turpeinen were pronounced dead at the site by the medical examiner. Cause of death is unknown at this time, but asphyxiation is suspected, according to the news release. The case is under investigation. Autopsies are scheduled for the victims.
