Norway horse pulls Sept. 5
NORWAY TOWNSHIP — Despite the cancellation of the 2020 Dickinson County Fair, one of the fair’s longest running events — horse pulling — is going to be held.
With the help of monetary donations already received, the annual horse pulls will take place Saturday, Sept. 5, said group spokesman Tom Wender.
“Horse pulling is one of the oldest events at the fair each year,” said Wender. “It’s great that despite the pandemic canceling the fair, we’re going to be able to have the pulls.”
The pulls will begin at 11 a.m. at the Norway fairgrounds in the grandstand area. The small horses will pull first, with the heavyweights to follow.
There will be an entry fee charged at the gate, and all spectators’ temperatures will be taken upon entry, noted Wender.
Event organizer Jim DalSanto is accepting additional donations from others interested in contributing. He can be contacted at 906-542-3893 for any questions about the event or donating to the horse pulls.
