IRON MOUNTAIN — Dickinson County District Judge Julie A. LaCost has issued her activity report for August.

New criminal cases for the month included 14 felonies, 18 misdemeanors, 11 OWI/OUID misdemeanors and one felony drunken driving.

New civil cases for the month included 27 general civil cases, 16 small claims cases and five landlord/tenant disputes and no summary proceeding.

New traffic cases included 135 civil infractions, 28 misdemeanors and nine non-traffic civil infractions.

Criminal dispositions for the month included five guilty pleas to felonies reduced to misdemeanors, 11 waived over to circuit court, 14 misdemeanors and 14 OWI/OUID misdemeanors. One felony drunken driving case was waived to circuit court.

Civil dispositions included 24 general civil, two small claims and four landlord/tenant disputes.

Traffic dispositions included 91 civil infractions and six misdemeanors. There was one non-traffic civil infraction.

The District Court handled five probation violation hearings, three drug-sobriety court referrals, and two Alcohol Highway Safety School referrals.

There were two show cause hearings and six marriage ceremonies.

Funds turned over to the county treasurer totaled $56,006. Funds turned over to the court trust totaled $4,784.01.
