DIDHD: 90 new COVID cases in Dickinson County
Local health officials Monday confirmed 90 new COVID-19 positives in Dickinson County since Friday, while neighboring Iron County had 21 new cases.
The Dickinson-Iron District Health Department updated its figures Monday to show Dickinson County with 790 confirmed cases and 30 probable cases, with 234 recovered, 20 deaths and 566 cases still active. For Iron County, the DIDHD on Monday had 457 confirmed cases and 33 probables, with 262 recovered, 23 deaths and 205 cases still active.
Reflecting two days of new numbers since Saturday, the state’s data site Monday added 267 confirmed COVID-19 positives in the Upper Peninsula: 65 in Marquette County, 48 in Dickinson County, 28 in Delta County, 23 in Houghton County, 19 in Gogebic County, 18 in Menominee County, 17 in Chippewa County, 15 in Iron County, eight in Alger County, seven in Mackinac County, five in Luce County, four in Baraga and Ontonagon counties and three in Keweenaw and Schoolcraft counties. The state also recorded three new deaths in Delta County and two in Gogebic County; the Western Upper Peninsula Health Department lists nine deaths in Gogebic County.
In total for the U.P., the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services’ COVID-19 data site since Saturday had Keweenaw County with 24 confirmed cases and one probable; Luce County, 62 confirmed cases and 22 probable, plus one probable death; Schoolcraft County, 98 confirmed cases and seven probable, plus one probable death; Alger County, 99 confirmed, 27 probable and one death; Baraga County, 109 confirmed cases, 20 probable and four deaths; Ontonagon County, 114 confirmed, 15 probable and one death; Chippewa County, 118 confirmed cases and 86 probable; Mackinac County, 142 confirmed cases and 36 probable; Gogebic County, 348 confirmed cases and 136 probable, five confirmed deaths and nine probable deaths; Iron County, 459 confirmed cases and 32 probable, 23 confirmed deaths and three probable; Menominee County, 709 confirmed cases, 79 probable and six deaths; Dickinson County, 786 confirmed cases and 24 probable, 20 confirmed deaths and one probable; Houghton County, 845 confirmed cases, 161 probable, eight confirmed deaths and one probable; Marquette County, 1,154 confirmed cases, 158 probable and 16 deaths; and Delta County, 1,272 confirmed cases and 148 probable, 33 confirmed deaths and seven probable. State numbers are updated daily but can lag behind local reports or have other discrepancies.
Using only the state figures Monday, the Upper Peninsula has had 6,339 confirmed COVID-19 cases to date and 117 deaths.
The MDHHS reported 6,709 confirmed new COVID-19 cases in Michigan since Saturday for a total of 184,889 to date. The state added 17 new deaths since Saturday for a total of 7,357.
For Wisconsin counties in the region, the state’s COVID-19 data site for Monday had 20 new confirmed positives in Marinette County, 12 in Vilas County, five in Forest County, four in Florence County and one in Iron County. Vilas County had its number of deaths reduced by one.
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services on Monday had Marinette County with 1,935 confirmed cases, 136 probable cases and 16 deaths; Vilas County, 668 confirmed, 21 probable and six deaths; Forest County, 510 confirmed, 19 probable and 11 deaths; Florence County, 227 confirmed, 12 probable and eight deaths; and Iron County, 217 confirmed, 44 probable and four deaths. As with the Michigan data, the state numbers are updated daily but can lag behind local reports or have other discrepancies.
Wisconsin had 3,433 new positives Monday for a total of 232,296. The state added three new COVID-19 deaths Monday to reach 2,050.
