Murder suspect in custody in Marquette County case
CHOCOLAY TOWNSHIP — A body was discovered in a residential area behind Ojibwa Casino in Chocolay Township over the weekend.
Michigan State Police responded to the scene late Friday night. The body was discovered just outside of Keweenaw Bay Indian Community tribal land, according to the FBI, who’s leading the investigation.
An arrest has been made. The suspect, Hunter Allen Loos, 24, told police he killed his mother in their home then set her body on fire in the woods, an FBI agent said.
Loos is named in a federal criminal complaint alleging he killed his mother, Renee Bressette, 50, on Friday at their home in the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community reservation.
He allegedly decided days earlier that he would kill her, FBI special agent Jay Johnston wrote in the complaint.
