Playing pilgrim

First-graders at Bishop Baraga Catholic School in Iron Mountain have been studying the pilgrims and what life was like for the early settlers in North America. When they needed something, they couldn’t go to a store and buy it, they had to make it, such as candles for light. The students learned first-hand how much work that was by making candles in class with their teacher, Laurie Moln. Here, Emma Hoy shows her finished results while Isaac Sage dips a candle in wax.
