Two arrested on drug-related charges in Iron County

IRON COUNTY — Two Wisconsin residents accused of drug-related offenses are set to appear Monday in Iron County Trial Court.

Eric Young, 39, of Oshkosh, Wis., is charged with two counts of the delivery or manufacture of a controlled substance, a felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison; maintaining a drug vehicle, a high court misdemeanor punishable by up to two years in prison; and fleeing a police officer in the fourth degree, a two-year felony.

Young is charged as a four-time habitual offender and could spend up to life in prison if convicted.

Arnette Jackson, 39, of Green Bay, Wis., is charged with two counts of the delivery or manufacture of a controlled substance.

Young and Jackson were arrested on the charges after a traffic stop on M-189 in Iron County on Tuesday, according to a release from the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team.

Young and Jackson were stopped as a result of an investigation by UPSET detectives on the distribution of drugs in the Iron River and Caspian areas, the release stated.

A search reportedly led to the discovery of a large amount of cash as well as a half an ounce of heroin and half an ounce of crack cocaine. The drugs were packaged for distribution, according to the release.

Young’s bond is set at $100,000 cash, according to the UPSET release. Jackson’s bond is set at $25,000 cash.

Court records show Young and Jackson are set to appear for probable cause conferences Monday.
