2020 Census numbers for region

According to the 2020 U.S. Census, populations have declined across the Upper Peninsula over the past 10 years, with the exception of Houghton County, which saw a gain of 2%.

The 2020 population totals include:

— Dickinson County, 25,947, a decline of 0.8%

— Iron County, 11,631, a decline of 1.6%

— Menominee County, 23,502, a decline of 2.2%

— Marquette County, 66,017, a decline of 1.6%

— Delta County, 36,903, a decline of 0.4%

— Houghton County, 37,361, a gain of 2%

In Wisconsin, both Florence and Marinette counties showed modest gains in population:

— Florence County, 4,558, a gain of 3.1%

— Marinette County, 41,872, a gain of 0.3%
