Fair fun starts today in Norway

NORWAY — The Dickinson County Fair opens today with plenty of sunshine in the forecast.
The official opening of the 111th annual event is 4 p.m. at the fairgrounds in Norway.
The Skerbeck Carnival opens at 4 p.m. as well and continues until the fair closes at 11 p.m. Daily ride armbands are $25 each day at the gate.
Spectators can catch the breeding livestock show from noon to 4:30 p.m. today. Bingo, which has been moved to the new office building, will run from 3 to 10 p.m. The exhibition building will be open from 4 to 10 p.m.
Grandstand entertainment kicks off tonight, featuring a Wisconsin Upper Michigan Pulling Association competition.
On Friday — Youth Day — fairgoers can check out the tractor pulls at 10 a.m. in the grandstands, followed by the draft horse show at noon.
The youth market livestock show, which will include beef, swine, sheep and goats, kicks off at noon.
The carnival opens for riding at 1 p.m. and continues until close of the fair.
The evening’s grandstand entertainment is the popular demolition derby starting at 8 p.m. Carry-ins will be restricted during the fair in the grandstand area.
Admission to the fair is $5 a day or $15 for the week. Ages 5 and younger are admitted free. All grandstand shows are free.
