Robbery reported in Spalding
MENOMINEE — Money and cigarettes were taken Wednesday night in what authorities say was an armed robbery at the Family Dollar Store in Spalding Township.
The male suspect, who remained at large, entered the store at about 8:45 p.m. dressed in all black and wearing pink women’s sunglasses.
The man escaped on foot with money from the cash register and 30 cartons of cigarettes, Menominee County Sheriff Mike Holmes said.
Law enforcement believes the suspect may be a detoxing drug addict. He was carrying a black, drawstring backpack.
