Missing woman found safe
MENOMINEE –An 84-year-old woman with dementia who was reported missing Thursday morning in Spalding Township was located about two hours later following a search by Menominee County authorities.
The woman was reporting missing at 8:44 a.m. after having been last seen about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, said Sheriff Mike Holmes.
K-9s from the Menominee County Sheriff’s Office and Hannahville Tribal Police Department were requested and deployed for a track.
The Menominee City Police Department and Delta County Sheriff’s Office also responded to assist with drones.
The missing woman was found by Menominee County Sheriff’s Office K9 Dina at approximately 10:53 a.m.. Holmes said.
She was alert and talking and was transported to OSF St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba for evaluation, he said.
Hermansville Rescue Squad also assisted.
