Winners of the fourth-annual Holy Spirit Catholic School raffle fundraiser have been announced. The recipient of the $10,000 first prize was Dave Hendrickson of Iron Mountain. NORWAY — Dave Hendrickson of Iron Mountain was the $10,000 grand prize winner in the fourth-annual Holy Spirit Catholic School raffle fundraiser.

Other cash prize winners were Lisa Richards of Iron Mountain, second, $4,000; Michael Lindahl of Gladstone, third, $3,000; Ken Raiche of Norway, fourth, $2,000; and Marlo Bal of Vulcan, fifth, $1,000.

The 50-50 drawing raised $40,000, with half going to school and the other half awarded.

The Rev. Marty Flynn, pastor of St. Mary Catholic Church of Norway and St. Barbara Catholic Church in Vulcan, drew the names Dec. 6 at Thirsty Whale in Norway.

This is the fourth year they have sold out, noting that tickets were gone by Thanksgiving.

“We are very grateful for everyone who helped make it another successful fundraiser,” said organizer Paula Pieropon Land.

Pieropon added plans to conduct a 50-50 fundraiser next year are underway.
